This course provides learners with a solid understanding of required maintenance of the Gas Chromatography (GC) system and basic troubleshooting strategies. Designed for new operators or those wanting a refresher, this course covers GC issues typically encountered in a laboratory setting. Discussions include inlet cleaning, column cutting and installation, and basic GC system troubleshooting.

By the end of this course, you will have a good grasp of what routine maintenance of the GC system entails, and will be able to make effective troubleshooting decisions.

Instructor Karen Olson

Ms. Olson has been performing GC analysis for over 30 years. She started in Pharmaceutical research and development and moved on to environmental analysis. She has used Hewlett Packard, Shimadzu, & Agilent gas chromatograph using FID, ECD, MS, MS/MS detectors.

Instructor: Aaron Pontifes

Aaron Pontifes has several years’ experience working as a field service representative for a broad spectrum of instrumentation including titrators, combustion analyzers, IC, GC, LC, TOC, and more. With a B.S. in Chemistry and MBA from the University of Houston, Aaron is passionate about sharing his knowledge and enthusiasm for instrumentation to students enrolled in trainings at Labtopia.
